Admission to class 9 has started in high schools in Bihar. Admission of students in the BSEB 9th Admission Form 2024 26 has started in high schools and upgraded high schools from 01 April 2024.
Only those children who get admission in class 9th in 2024 will appear in the Bihar Board Annual Matric in 2026.

The amount of 9th admission fee varies in different schools. But generally the admission fee for 9th admission is Rs 250/- to Rs 300/-. The actual admission fee may also vary according to your school.
How to take admission in Bihar Board Class 9th?
There is offline admission in class 9th in the high schools of Bihar. That is, the students have to go to the high school with all the documents. And admission has to be done by depositing the prescribed admission fee. There is no need to apply online for this. But from the year 2024, the rule for admission in class 9th has been changed.
Admission will be in your own school or your own panchayat school For the 2024 class 9th admission, the Education Department of Bihar has issued a new order. According to this order, from this year, students will not be able to get admission in the high school of their choice.
According to the new rule,
- The school from which the student has passed the 8th examination. If that school is also a high school, then the student will be enrolled in that school.
- If that school is not a high school, then admission will have to be done in a high school of your own panchayat.
- To get admission in a high school outside your panchayat, permission will have to be taken from the District Education Officer (DEO).
When will admission start for class 9th?
Admission in 9th class in high schools has started from 01 April 2024. Interested students can get admission in high schools as per the rules. A new admission form has also been released this year for 9th admission. Which can be downloaded from the download link given below.

What is the age limit for admission in class 9th?
Since students taking admission in class 9th in 2024 have to appear for matriculation exam in 2026, it is necessary that they should be 14 years old on 01 March 2026.
If the age is less than this, the student will be deprived of appearing in the annual matriculation examination of 2026. Therefore, the date of birth of students taking admission in class 9th in 2024 should not be after 01-03-2012. Students with date of birth before this can take admission and register in class 9th and can appear in the annual secondary examination 2026.
