A clear sign of increasing women empowerment in the state is that this year the number of girls is more than boys. While 8.72 lakh girls will appear for the exam, the number of boys is 8.22 lakh. 75,850 boys and girls will appear for the paper at 75 centers in the Patna district.

Bihar Board Chairman Anand Kishore said

The examinations will be held in two shifts. “The first shift will start at 9.30 am and the second at 2 pm. Students appearing for the examination in the first sitting will have to enter the examination hall by 9 am. Those appearing for the exam in the second sitting will have to reach the hall by 1.30 pm,” said Kishore.

District Magistrates and Senior Superintendents of Police have been asked to ensure fair conduct of the examination at all centers. A control room (with phone numbers 0612-2232257 and 0612-2232227) will start functioning at 6 pm on Wednesday to ensure safe and smooth conduct of examinations across the state. The control room will function till 6 pm on February 23, the last day of the examination. In case of any difficulty, candidates can contact the control room.

The Speaker said that prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC will remain in force around the examination centers and no unauthorized person will be allowed to enter the centre. Magistrates will be deputed along with the police force at all the examination centers.

Candidates will be searched at two points – at the main entrance of the examination center and at all places inside the examination center. Candidates will not be allowed to carry a calculator, cellphone, Bluetooth, earphones, or any other electronic gadget inside the examination hall.

CCTV Cameras installed at All Centers

CCTV cameras will be installed at all the centers and there will be videography of the entire center. One videographer will be deployed for every 500 candidates. Identity cards will be issued to all supervisors, officers, and employees. Invigilators have been asked to report at their designated center a day before the commencement of the examination.

If the admit card of a candidate is lost, he/she may be allowed to take the examination after establishing identity from the scanned photograph on the attendance sheet and verification from the roll sheet.
BSEB will distribute pre-printed answer sheets and OMR sheets containing photographs of the candidate. Examinees will get 100% additional options in both objective and subjective questions. Answer sheets and OMR sheets will be handed over to the candidates together, but OMR sheets will be collected earlier at the scheduled time. There will be 10 sets of question papers (A to J) in each subject, BSEB Chairman said.

There will be four model examination centers in each district where all examiners, invigilators, police, magistrates, and other support staff will be women only.
